Abstract: Business process re-engineering is an approach where processes are developed to maximizean organization’s potential. This research presents a case study at the Turku University of Applied Sciences describing a re-engineering process of human resource management relatedto organizing teaching and other tasks in degree programs. We use the diffusion of innovations theory as explaining theory.

Introduction: Business process re-engineering is an approach where processes are re-structured, re-designedand re-engineered so as to maximize an organization’s potential (Blyth 1997). The re-engineering we are introducing here is about a human resource management process related toorganizing teaching in degree programs. During this process, the curriculum is turned intoresources to teachers for giving lectures and labs. In addition, other resources can be allocatedto teachers.
